We had supported the elections in good faith and invested substantially. "

Adding that further delay will be a set back, he said, "We risk having a Parliament not elected for more than 10 years. This would be a set back for a democratisation process, we have been nurturing since its infancy. It is time to give the people the opportunity to vote as scheduled.”

Answering a question related to the next step for the EU, ambassador Michelle stated, "We have been speaking to them very frankly as partners should. Ultimately, it depends on political will.”
